OFFICIAL RECOGNITION

Authorized Rhino Training Program

The Authorized Rhino Training program recognizes both individual expert instructors and professional training centers that have met rigorous quality standards. By becoming authorized, trainers and training centers gain official backing from their regional McNeel office, positioning them as premier providers of Rhino education.

You don't need to be authorized to teach Rhino.

But only ARTs and ARTCs can post classes to the official Learn page and be listed as offering custom training. That visibility is the core of what authorization unlocks.

Core requirements

To qualify, applicants - individuals or centers - must demonstrate expertise and commitment to the software:

Proven experience - at least two years of Rhino modeling experience.
Official certification - Level 1 & Level 2 Official Certificate.
Content creation - submit a high-quality video or written Rhino tutorial.
Licensing - verification that you own and run an up-to-date Rhino license.
Formal application - successful submission of the official authorization application.

ART vs ARTC

Two ways to be authorized

Authorized Rhino Trainers are independent instructors recognized by McNeel who run official Rhino training, in person or online.
Authorized Rhino Training Centers are schools and studios that do the same at an organizational level, often hosting several trainers.

An individual specialist certified by McNeel to run official training modules.

Official endorsement - recognized by McNeel as an official trainer.
Global visibility - listed on the Learn directory.

An organization, company, or institution recognized to deliver Rhino training at scale.

Licensing options

Provision license pools with McNeel’s validation systems:

Cloud Zoo Team

Students can access the school’s Rhino license anywhere, at school or home, by signing in with their Rhino Account email. No local server needed.

LAN Zoo

Host lab licenses on a server on your private network. Students and teachers borrow and return floating licenses.

What licensing options exist for lab licenses?

Lab licenses are 30-seat licenses managed with a single key. This license key can be added to LAN Zoo or to a Cloud Zoo Team.

Can academic clients run installations offline?

Yes. The LAN Zoo can run without an internet connection. Cloud Zoo Team needs a connection to sign in and to renew its license lease periodically.

Can students sign in with their school account?

Yes. Students sign in with a Rhino Account using their school email. If your team is linked to your school’s domain, they join your team automatically. Otherwise, a team administrator adds them.

Can students use their license from home?

With Cloud Zoo, yes: the license follows the student’s sign-in. LAN Zoo licenses work on the network where the LAN Zoo server runs or over VPN. A license can also be checked out from LAN Zoo to a laptop for offline use.

Do we have to run our own license server?

Only for LAN Zoo. LAN Zoo is a free Windows service you install on one machine in your network. Cloud Zoo is hosted by McNeel, so there’s nothing to run.

What is a Rhino Educational License Pack?

A Rhino Educational License Pack is a volume purchase available to schools that includes a set of Educational single-user licenses at a special price. Unlike a Lab License, each license in the pack belongs to and is assigned to a student or teacher.

Is there an extra cost for the LAN Zoo or Cloud Zoo?

No. Both the LAN Zoo and the Cloud Zoo are completely free. There’s no additional charge for either method, so you can choose whichever fits your school best.
