Rhino V3 Asks for a Hardware Lock

When Rhino V3 is installed or run on a computer running Windows in an Asian language, Rhino requires a hardware lock. Our Asian distributors required this.

You have two options:

To keep Windows in the Asian language, use a parallel-port or USB hardware lock. These are available from Robert McNeel & Associates, and are included with copies of Rhino V3 sold in Asia.
In Control Panel, open Regional and Language Options. Set both Standards and formats and, on the Advanced tab, Language for non-Unicode programs to US English or another Western European language. Rhino then no longer asks for a hardware lock.

In Rhino V4, a license validation system replaced this hardware lock system.
