Installing Rhino 5 for Mac

Follow these six steps to install Rhino 5 for Mac.

Step 1: Get a Download Link and 90-Day Evaluation License Key

1. Request a download link and license key. Enter your email address and click Next. We will send you an email message.
2. Check your email for a new message from Brian Gillespie titled Welcome to Rhino 5 for Mac Evaluation.

Step 2: Download the Disk Image (DMG)

1. Open the email message.
2. Click the Download Rhino 5 for Mac Evaluation link to start the download. It takes a few minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection.
3. Note the name of the downloaded file. It looks like Rhinoceros_5.x.dmg and is about 200 MB.
4. Write down the License code in item three of the email. You need it in step 5.

Step 3: Open the Disk Image (DMG)

1. In Finder, browse to your Downloads folder and find the Rhinoceros package you just downloaded.
2. Right-click the installer and choose Open.
3. Read the short license agreement and click Agree. Wait while the package is opened and verified.
4. Drag Rhinoceros.app into the Applications folder.
5. Find the Rhinoceros disk image on your desktop. Right-click it and choose Eject Rhinoceros.

Step 4: Launch Rhinoceros

1. Open Launchpad from your Dock, find the Rhinoceros application, and start it. Wait while it is verified, and then click Open.

Step 5: Enter Your License Key

1. Click Enter a License.
2. Enter your Name, Organization (optional), and the License Key from your email message.
3. Click Done.

Step 6: Validate and Register Your License

1. When the Rhino splash screen opens, click New Model.
2. When Welcome to License Validation opens, click Continue.
3. Enter your email address in both fields and click Continue.
4. Register your license.
5. Click Continue.
6. Click Close to finish.
