Reminder: We expect you will NOT push out any public announcements via email, social media, or press releases until the public announcement date. Why?

If you have any questions, post them on the Rhino Reseller discussion forum.

Do not ignore these details:

• Preliminary Launch Schedule
• Prices and promotion
• No change to reseller discounts.
• No free upgrades to Rhino 8, no matter when someone purchased Rhino 7 or a Rhino 7 Upgrade.
• Old inventory can be swapped or returned for a credit.
• Rhino 8 reseller NFR licenses are available. Contact your regional office. Not-for-resale (NFR) licenses are for internal use only.

Other things you need to know:

• System requirements. Review the Not Supported details.
• Rhino 8 license keys will work on both Windows and Mac.
• Customers who purchase full Rhino 8 (R80 and R80-E) will have access to a previous version legacy key. Details…
• LAN Zoo 8 is required to support Rhino 8 licenses.
• The Cloud Zoo and Rhino Accounts support Rhino 8 licenses.
• Current Bongo licenses work in Rhino 8. No stock swap is needed.
• Most Rhino 7 plugins work in Rhino 8.
  If not, let their developer know. Likely, only minor changes are needed.
• Flamingo, Penguin, and Brazil are discontinued but will run in Rhino 8. Most of those rendering tools and many more are included in Rhino 8.

  • More than 1,000 specialty applications and services. Many that can be added to your product line.
  • More than 400,000 downloads per month. Add your specialty products and services.
  • More than 600,000 registered users watching for the newest Rhino-related application or service.

• Rhino.Inside (geeky details here)

  • Revit… Rhino.Inside.Revit may be the hottest new Revit plugin. Every Revit user (+300,000) will need Rhino soon. BTW, many Rhino and Grasshopper plugins now work in Revit. Examples: VisualARQ and Lands Design.
  • Others at different stages for development or release include: Compute, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Excel, CPython, DotNet, JavaScript, Unity, Unreal, Tekla, SOFiSTiK, ETABS, SOLIDWORKS, BricsCAD, CADWORKS, ArchiCAD, TopSolid, ArcGIS and many more. Since Rhino.Inside is open source, it is hard for us to keep track of all the different projects.

• iRhino, new file viewing and markup iOS app with support for Rhino 8 and earlier plus many other file formats. Also, it has many cool features like RoomScan and ObjectScan. BTW, it is free!

• 50,000+ users whose R8 WIP/BETA expires on 08-Dec-2023 will want to upgrade to keep working in Rhino 8.
