AR Enabled Display Modes

iRhino3D ships with two new display modes that are AR enabled. Shaded - AR and Rendered - AR

In addition to that, any other display mode can become AR enabled by changing its background Fill Mode to Camera.

AR Modes

When viewing a model in an AR enabled display mode, you are presented with a few options on the bottom of the screen, these modes can be accessed by tapping the icon:

  • Free Point
    • The default mode, it places the the model mid air at a distance away from the camera. To change the model’s placement tap the Reset Position button
  • Horizontal Surface (only in LiDAR enabled devices)
    • Looks for a horizontal surface in the middle of the screen. Once happy with the position of the model on the surface, you can tap the Lock Position to anchor the model to that point on the surface.
  • Vertical Surface (only in LiDAR enabled devices)
    • Similar to the previous mode, but places the model on a vertical surface.
  • Face
    • Using the front facing camera, model is placed on your face (because why not)
  • AR Marker
    • Camera looks for this image|attachment (255.1 KB) in real world and places the model’s origin on its center.
