Importing Custom Settings to Rhino 8
There three primarary options for importing custom settings from a previous Rhino 6 or 7 into a Rhino 8 installation: RUI Menu Files, Rhino System Options, and command Aliases.
Import RUI Menu Files
Rhino 6 & 7 used a menu files called a RUI or Rhino User Interface. You can import these into your Rhino 8.

In Rhino 8, go to Tools menu → Options → Appearance → Toolbars.

Pick the Gear icon to import your Rhino 7 RUI into Rhino 8
In Rhino 8, you can save and restore unique layouts of toolbars or Rhino Windows Layouts to a .RHW file. This is part of the new Rhino 8 UI system, that is shared by both Rhino 8 for Windows and Mac.
WindowLayout
is a command that you can type in or go to the Windows menu → Window Layouts → pick Manage Window Layouts.
Rhino System Options
Rhino System options like Keyboard shortcuts, Modeling aids setting, Appearance settings and more can be saved from Rhino 6 or 7 with the
OptionsExport
command.

In Rhino 6 or 7, type
OptionsExport or take it from the Tools menu, and write an ini file. Remember the location and name.

In Rhino 8, type
OptionsImport or take it from the Tools menu, and import the ini file you wrote in the previous step.
Both commands
OptionsExport
and
OptionsImport
are available from the Tools menu.
Alias Shorcuts
Alias are in saved to their own ini file separate from other Rhino options.

In Rhino 6 or 7. go to Tools menu → Options → Aliases → Export to write a custom ini file. Remember the name and location of the file.

In Rhino 8, Tools menu → Options → Aliases → Import. Select the file that you wrote in the previous step.
