Symptom

Rhino for Windows fails to install, uninstall, or repair with error code -2147023284

Affected Versions of Rhino

  • Rhino 7 for Windows
  • Rhino 8 for Windows
  • Rhino 9 for Windows

Resolution

  1. Download RhinoInstallRepair.exe
  2. Run RhinoInstallRepair.exe The utility will:
    • Prompt to elevate and run with Administrator permissions
    • Detect the versions of Rhino that are currently installed
    • Download the installers for the broken installations
    • Repairs the installations
