The following is a customer’s experience trying to get the Zoo to work over a Microsoft VPN:

Just a little message to inform you about my newest discovery. After thorough research it seems that apparently Microsoft VPN in no case supports NetBIOS. For specific users we migrated to a hardware based Cisco SSL VPN solution. And in this scenario it works immediately. One thing to keep in mind though: you have to enable NetBIOS on any network adapter. The Cisco SSL VPN will actually act as a new physical network adapter and support NetBIOS over the TCP/IP stack.
