Create Hotkeys for your Aliases

Instant aliases enable users to run Rhino shortcuts as a single keystroke without pressing Enter. Try Instant aliases for your most common commands and streamline your modeling process!

Try It

  1. Download Rhino 9 WIP for Windows or Mac.
  2. Download and open the ia-floorplan.3dm model.
  3. The Top view will be zoomed to focus on a portion of the floorplan.
  4. Run the Options command, or go to the Tools menu > Options > Aliases.
  5. Search for the ZE alias that corresponds to the '_Zoom _Extents command macro.
  6. In the the far right column titled Instant +/-, select to add a check mark to '_Zoom _Extents. This will enable the instant functionality.
  7. Press the button in Options to save the changes.
  8. Type ZE in the Command Prompt without pressing Enter. The '_Zoom _Extents macro will zoom the Top view to the extents of the entire floorplan.
  9. Try it on your own! Enable this on your favorite commands and macros!
