Works Across Faces

The new Group option in the Inset command creates a single outer boundary. This simplifies creating recess on a polysurface model.

Try it

1. Download Rhino 9 WIP for Windows or Mac.
2. Download and open inset-multiface.3dm.
3. Run the Inset command.
4. At the Select faces and ngons prompt , select the 3 magenta surfaces. Press Enter.
5. At the Inset Distance prompt, type 10 and press Enter.
6. Select the Mode option in the prompt and set it to: Mode=Group.
7. You get a single loop that crosses all three faces! You can PushPull or make other changes that run across the object.
8. Undo the changes and run the Inset command again, this time with Mode=Single to see the difference.
9. Try it on your own! Experiment with your own models.
