The new Group option in the Inset command creates a single outer boundary. This simplifies creating recess on a polysurface model.

Try it

  1. Download Rhino 9 WIP for Windows or Mac.
  2. Download and open inset-multiface.
  3. Run the Inset command.
  4. At the Select faces and ngons prompt , select the 3 magenta surfaces. Press Enter.
  5. Select the Mode option in the prompt. It should read: Mode=Group.
  6. At the Inset Distance prompt, type 10 and press Enter.
  7. You get a single loop that crosses all three faces!
  8. Try it on your own! Experiment with your own models.
