Self-Paced Online

Carlsbad, California
$800 USD

Course Description:
In this online, self-paced course from the Gemological Institute of America, you'll learn how to use Rhino 7 to optimize your jewelry design workflow. With over 13 hours of videos, this course is designed for the working CAD professional, as well as any individual interested in advancing their Rhino skills to create jewelry models and photorealistic renderings.

Each of the seven lessons focuses on creating jewelry models with functional gem settings, including pavé, channel, bead and bright, microprong, and more. For each setting style, we cover GIA's jewelry-engineering fundamentals, create accurate settings for manufacturing using only Rhino tools, and modify settings for a photorealistic rendering.

Students receive a library of over 800 Rhino files, including gems, prongs, render materials, and more. This library of files is an important part of any jewelry workflow in Rhino.

The course is open to anyone with at least an intermediate skill level in Rhino. GIA Alumni can enroll through the GIA Alumni Collective. If you are new to the GIA, you will need to create a free account on the GIA Alumni Collective Community website to enroll. Upon completion of Jewelry Settings in Rhino 7, you will receive a certificate from the Gemological Institute of America.
