Torsion

A measure of a curve's local non-planarity. Torsion describes how quickly the curve departs from the curvature plane. Note that it is possible to have curvature without any torsion, if the curve is locally planar, as is the case for circles and spirals, but it is not possible to have torsion without curvature.

Only three-dimensional curves can have torsion as a property.
