Student's T-Distribution
ˈstjuːd(ə)nts tiː dɪstrɪˈbjuːʃ(ə)n
A type of continuous distribution modelling the distribution for an entire population, when only a sample of the population is known. Unlike the normal distribution, the t-distribution takes into account the size of the known sample. Especially for small sample sizes, the resulting curve has fatter tails and lower peak than the normal distribution curve, reflecting the increased uncertainty within the calculation.
