Region
ˈriːdʒ(ə)n
The area enclosed by one or more closed coplanar curves. If another boundary curve is nested within the area, it is interpreted as a hole. Whether or not a region may consist of disconnected areas, depends on context. If boundary curves intersect, the difference between interior and exterior can no longer be unambiguously defined.
