Quadrance
ˈkwɒdr(ə)ns
A type of distance metric similar to a distance between points when measured with a ruler. It differs from the Euclidean distance metric in that the square root of the summed differences is left uncalculated. Commonly used in algorithms due to the calculation being quicker. The standard distance metric in rational trigonometry.
