A type of colour interpolation used in colour gradients. The colour of any given gradient location is a linear combination of the colours of the grips on either side. A location exactly halfway between two grips will be a fifty-fifty blend of both grip colours. Under certain conditions this may result in what appear to be discontinuities at grip locations.
