Jaccard
ˈdʒakɑːd
A type of distance metric used to determine the similarity or dissimilarity between sample sets. Defined as the number of identical coordinates divided by the total number of coordinates, subtracted from one.
The Jaccard distance is closely related to the Hamming distance, but adds a normalising operation so the dimensionality of the points doesn’t affect the magnitude of the outcome.
