Folded Normal Distribution
fəʊldɪd ˈnɔːm(ə)l dɪstrɪˈbjuːʃ(ə)n

A modification of the normal distribution, where all probabilities for negative outcomes are added to the probabilities of the equivalent positive outcomes. E.g. the probability of outcome 2.5 in the folded distribution equals the sum of the probabilities for outcomes 2.5 and -2.5 in the underlying normal distribution. The folded distribution is used when only the magnitude of values matters, but whether they are positive or negative does not.
