Cubic
ˈkjuːbɪk

A type of colour interpolation used in colour gradients. The colour of any given gradient location is a combination of the colours of all the grips in the gradient. This interpolation yields a very smooth progression throughout the gradient, provided the interpolated colours do not overshoot the limits defined within the relevant colour space. For example, the cubic interpolation may produce extreme colours with more than 100% saturation or brightness. This will lead to discontinuities where these colours are pulled back to fit the colour space.
