Compile Time
kəmˈpʌɪl tʌɪm
The stage in the creation of a computer program when the source code is being translated into code the computer can operate. This is done by a separate program called a compiler. Any syntactical errors in the source code will prevent a successful compilation, meaning the code must in that case be made valid first. This does not protect against all bugs as it is possible for a syntactically correct program to nevertheless not work in the expected way.
