You must know:

  • Curve Drawing (InterpCrv, Curve)

  • Project Curve to Surface (Project)
  • Split Surface with Curve (Split)
  • Create Blend between two Surfaces (BlendSrf)
  • 2-Rail Sweep (Sweep2)

You will learn:

  • How to make a Y branch.

To create a branch:

  1. Open branch01.3dm.

  2. Create curves defining the overall shape of the branch.

  3. In the Top view, draw two additional curves which are used
to create a swept surfaces. Make the curves follow the branch
    shape as tightly as possible.

  4. Use Sweep2 with the Maintain Height option to create the two
main surfaces. The Maintain Height option prevents the shape
curves from changing height as they are swept along the rails.

  5. Draw two curves in the Top view indicating the trim curve
locations. Use Project to project them on the surfaces.

  6. Use Split to divide the swept surfaces in pieces and delete
    the unnecessary parts.

  7. Use BlendSrf to create a smooth surface between the trimmed
objects. The edges consist of two curve pieces so remember
to pick them all and in the same order.
