Flamingo is good and it is cool..Its a stone in the wars between the Global illuminationers and the Photometriciens :) And we, we hope neither of two method, the winner will be the render enthousiasts :)) So for a conclusion, it has some weakness but it is a new kid on the block. And for the moment it is very powerfull.. Dani

I have evaluated Flamingo and liked what I saw. I am coming from using RhinoMan/BMRT and like the more real world and user friendly interface. I have found that being a true integrated plugin it pains me when I have to wait for the render to finish before going back in to the model and continue working or set up another shot. To be able to do true back ground render and still edit the model while rendering would be a big plus in my book, so I don't get bored waiting for the render to finish.

I like the results I get from Flamingo but I am not happy with the incredibly long rendering times. Any setting that produces an image large enough with the proper shadows and lighting takes a very long time, 5-6 hours(I use a p4 2.4 ghz w/512 mb of DDR 333 RAM). I find this to be unacceptable! I hope that future evolutions of this product will address this problem quickly. I am not asking for a Rolls Royce but a mid size sedan with a little pep under the hood would be great.
