Creates a surface or solid by driving a curve in a straight line perpendicular to the construction plane.
Note: Unlike Lofts and Sweeps, the initial orientation of the profile curve or surface is maintained through the extrusion.
Steps:
Options
|
History enabled…Changing the input objects changes the output objects. |
Extrude > Extrude Straight Surface > Extrude Curve > Straight |
Extrudes a curve along a path curve.
Note: Unlike Lofts and Sweeps, the initial orientation of the profile curve or surface is maintained through the extrusion.
Steps:
Select a curve.
Select the path curve.
Options
Extrude a curve the distance specified by picking two points along a curve.
Note: The extruded surface starts from the beginning of the curve, not the first picked point. Picking the points only establishes the extrusion distance.

History enabled…Changing the input objects changes the output objects. |
Extrude > Extrude Along Curve Surface > Extrude Curve > Along Curve |
Creates a surface or solid by extruding a curve to a tapered polysurface.
Note: Unlike Lofts and Sweeps, the initial orientation of the profile curve or surface is maintained through the extrusion.
Steps:
Options
|
History enabled…Changing the input objects changes the output objects. |
Extrude > Extrude Tapered Surface > Extrude Curve > Tapered |
Creates a surface or solid by driving a curve to a pointed surface.
Note: Unlike Lofts and Sweeps, the initial orientation of the profile curve or surface is maintained through the extrusion.
Steps:
Options
|
History enabled…Changing the input objects changes the output objects. |
Extrude > Extrude to Point Surface > Extrude Curve >To Point |
Creates a surface by extruding a curve on a surface, normal to the surface.
Steps:
Select a curve on the surface.
Select the surface.
Pick a location on the curve for a height.
Pick a location to set another height, or press Enter if the surface should be uniform in height.
Extrude > Extrude curve normal to surface Surface > Extrude Curve > Normal to Surface |
Creates a surface by offsetting a curve and creating a ruled surface in the area between the two curves.
Steps:
Select a curve.
Drag the cursor to one side of the curve and pick.
Options
Extrude > Ribbon Surface > Extrude Curve > Ribbon |
Offsets a curve, extrudes and caps the result to create a solid.
Steps:
Select a curve.
Note: The Slab command uses the construction plane in the view where you pick the offset as the ground plane. The Slab command offsets the curve to create a base for the slab and then extrudes the base to make a solid with mitered corners.
Pick a distance.
Pick the height.
Options
Extrude Solid > Slab from polyline Solid > Slab |
